Wigan & Leigh ‘Drop The Bill’ Rally

Wigan & Leigh Save Our NHS/Keep Our NHS Public Banner sponsored by Leigh UNITE, Wigan UNISON & NW PCS.

Wigan & Leigh Save Our NHS/Keep Our NHS Public campaigners have been pushing for a Rally like this for months. At last we appear to have got it. On the Platform will be:

Andy Burnham – Shadow Secretary of State for Health and MP for Leigh
Yvonne Fovargue – MP for Makerfield
Julie Hilling MP – MP for Bolton West (tbc)
Speakers from Unison & Unite (tbc)

Friday, 2nd March 2012 at 6.30pm

Ince Town Hall, Ince Green Lane, Wigan, WN3 4QX (Close to Ince Railway Station)

If we are lucky, Ian Heyes, Secretary of Leigh UNITE and a stalwart of the Wigan & Leigh Save Our NHS/Keep Our NHS Public campaign might be one of the union speakers, we’ll certainly be trying for it!

Wigan & Leigh Save Our NHS/Keep Our NHS Public Campaigners in Wigan last summer!

We need well attended rallies, hopefully like the one in Ince in two week’s time, all over the country, to help rack up the pressure on the Government to drop the Health & Social Care Bill, or alternatively see the thing run out of Parliamentary time.

Either way it would be a victory for those who have had the faith to fight for OUR NHS and a defeat for the Government!
